September 5, 2007

I fixed a bunch of broken links on the Song Index, so if there was anything you tried there and couldn't get, it'll work now.

July 8, 2007

I've added lyrics for four Aino Minako songs from PGSM: Happy Time Happy Life, I'm Here, Kiss!2 Bang!2, and Sayonara ~ Sweet Dreams, all translated by Sarah Henshaw. Thanks goes to Michael Soria for posting the link to the translations in my guestbook.

June 7, 2007

A really fun remix was sent in by a visitor named Ana: a NES/famicom 8-bit version of Moonlight Densetsu (and accompanying instrumental version), from the new CD Famison 8BIT from Haruko Momoi performing under the name "momo-i". The singer/seiyuu covers classic anime songs including the themes from Urusei Yatsura, Dr. Slump, and Sailor Moon (those are just the ones I could make out =) Visit the Japanese web site for samples of the other tracks: they're very cute! A second album, Famison 8BIT Stage 2 will be released June 8.

May 9, 2007

I have fixed a few broken links: a) The link to RattleMan's Sailormoon Cues on Studio Library page; the files have been moved to http://sailormusic.net/ogg/studiolibraryrips/. b) tracks 4-9 of the PGSM Kirari Super Live Special. c)Kiss! Bang! and Sayonara ~ Sweet Days by Aino Minako on the PGSM Complete Song Collection. Thanks to everyone who emailed me about these!

A Hong Kong fan sent me some Cantonese versions of the Sailor Moon openings and closings. You can download them from the International page.

April 23, 2007

I discovered today that my email address michelle AT michellebacon.net has not been working since at least January 2, 2007. I had 316 messages that never reached me until today when I found out my host's mail server settings had changed. I'm so sorry! I really wasn't ignoring you =( I have a number of email addresses so I was still receiving mail and thought all was well. I feel like such a dope =P

WE'RE BACK - March 20, 2007

OK, that was a stressful week. The Sailormusic.net domain was set to be renewed on March 10, but my registrar, Registerfly.com, has had a huge meltdown and is basically going down in flames, and taking thousands of domains down with it. They allowed my domain to expire despite my having paid for renewal last month, and turned this site into a link farm by changing my nameservers so they could serve up advertising on my site. Their tech support is not answering inquiries, and they are holding thousands of its customers' domains hostage by not allowing many of them to be transferred away. It took me until last night to be able to transfer this domain to another registrar. See this Wikipedia article for all the gory details of what's happening. If you have a domain registered or hosted thru Registerfly.com, get the heck out if you can. Their accreditation has been revoked as of March 16 and they're going to be shut down by ICANN.

March 3, 2007

A little known part of the site is the Soundtracks page, a short list of just the soundtrack CDs containing background music from the Sailor Moon anime, PGSM, and games. I've placed a direct link to it in the sidebar so it's easier to find (formerly it was linked only from the Anime Albums page) and written a guide to locating episode BGM on the various CDs, along with a "cheat sheet" of how to read the Memorial Music Box CD booklet. Hope that helps those of you who have difficulty locating background music. Sailor Moon really does have a lot more soundtrack CDs than most series, so it can be a challenge.

I've added WAVE files of the Swedish Opening and Ending. Credit goes to Drasha for pointing these out to me in the Guestbook. Visit Sailor Moon in Sweden for background information on the songs used in the Swedish dub.

The broken links for Super Best have been fixed. Thanks everyone for signing the guestbook to notify me. I also rezipped the Playstation game soundtrack because someone had a problem with that.

February 5, 2007

I received my copy of Shin Kaguya Shima Densetsu today, so those tracks are now available. Yay ^^

February 4, 2007

Something I've wanted to do for a long time is put up some of the international albums released for Sailor Moon in various countries. Sailor Moon fans have sent me songs and even entire albums over the years, a few of which I've hosted at various times. Now that I have plenty of space and bandwidth to play with (having switched to DreamHost a few months ago), I've created a downloads page for these International Albums. I hope you enjoy listening to these special songs as much as I have :-)

January 8, 2007

My apologies, I didn't realize the Memorial Music Box Booklet Scans was a broken link.

December 4, 2006

Fixed broken links in Super Best and DJ Moon 1.

October 15, 2006

I've added a SeraMyu links section to my Links page. I'm out of touch with the current "big" SeraMyu sites (the ones I used to know have shut down or moved somewhere), so if you have suggestions for really good sites I should add, let me know!

October 11, 2006

Some older musical compilation CDs added to fill in the gaps in that section: Best Songs Collection, Love Ballad Edition, and Best Soundtrack 1-3. I've also added track listings for Theme Songs 1993-1999 and Eternal Edition 4: Marinamoon Special Edition. I've had these music files on my hard drive for while (most were sent in by Charles H. - thanks for your patience!) but I needed additional bandwidth/disk space to host them. Now that I've switched hosts, they're up!

October 10, 2006

Some fixes: I forgot to upload the "Michiru-Haruka Hands" MIDI when I switched servers (it somehow disappeared off my computer too), so I've found it again and uploaded it. Also! The Japanese encoding on the Memorial Song Box and a couple of the anime music collections has now been fixed by David. It was gibberish before - looks a lot better now! Finally, I updated some of the information on the Sailor Moon Guide (status of the Sailor Moon anime in English, link to Project WikiMoon). Tomorrow: musicals!

Oct 1, 2006

Switched servers for this domain and mangastyle.net a couple weeks ago. Sorry about the downtime this week. My web host disabled the domain for no apparent reason (this is the second time they've done this) so I've switched to the host I'm using for sailormusic.net. Of course, my e-mail was down as well, so if you sent me mail informing me the site's down - I didn't get it!

September 9, 2006

Switching servers...

July 8, 2006

Broken links fixed: Brass Fantasy, Music Fantasy, Orgel Fantasia and Piano Fantasia (they were all on a host server that went offline). Various dead or moved sites on the Links page. I've also reuploaded Musical 9 second half, since there were problems with that.

May 18, 2006

New! A better quality version of Sayonara ha Dance no Ato ni has been sent to me by Hezaa, along with a remix/cover.

May 13, 2006

Better versions of three studio library BGMs have been added, all from episode 35: Princess Revealed, Silver Millenium Story, and Zosite's Death. Thanks goes to Corza who ripped these.

May 8, 2006

Two new styles! "In the Pink" and "Oak Evolution". The black & yellow style has been retired. Now you can switch between styles thru the style switcher colour buttons in the top-right corner. Any major problems, let me know (unless you have javascript or cookies turned off -they're required). Be sure to include which web browser you're using and your computer's operating system.

May 1, 2006

Quickie: fixed track 23 on Sailor Moon Extra Version.

Quite a few people responded to my request for Ishida Yoko's Sailor Moon Para Para mixes last month. Thanks goes to Derushie, Angie, Christine/Ginga, Sean, and Manwards for sending or offering to send me these files, and in some cases sending me other remixes as well! Therefore I have added them to the remixes. I previously stated on that page that Ishida Yoko did a Para Para remix of Suki to Itte, but I seem to have been mistaken.

March 12, 2006

I've added some remixes (both professional and fan-produced). I'm looking for ISHIDA Yoko's "Otome no Policy" Para Para mix, so if anyone has a copy, send me an email!

March 11, 2006

There is now an anime song index for quick linking to all the anime vocal songs.

February 14, 2006

I've uploaded the drama CDs for Sailor Moon R and S (Anime Albums).

January 30, 2006

A complete version of track 22 has been added to the zip file for Memorial Album of the Musical: Eternal Edition (thanks Charles!). I have also uploaded a bigger, hi-res image of the SuperS Playstation CD cover (from gamespot.com, via Endy).

January 16, 2006

Okay, all the music files are back online, except for a few English tracks from Full Moon Collection that I can't locate on my computer at the moment.

January 14, 2006

I'm back online! Finally! Spent the past week trying to get my %$@!#& new wireless network card to work (firmware update was needed, turns out). I was using my BF's computer for the past month to go online, so at least I was able to keep up with my blog reading. Now I can catch up on emails and updates. I went over my bandwidth limits in both November and December, so I really wanted to get back online so I could make sure it doesn't happen again this month =P

Nov 27

I am moving this weekend and will be bunking elsewhere until December 15 while repairs are being made to my new digs. So I probably won't have access to my email accounts during that time. My computer will be packed up during that time. I haven't had time to answer a lot of my recent email; I'm very sorry. The following music files are offline: CD Singles, International Albums, Musical 5 and 11, and all the albums marked "Music Files Offline" in Albums. I will not be able to get these back online until after the 15th so don't bother emailing me about them.

Nov 3 - Forums Back Up

The forums' host server is back up, however the backups were lost. Members will need to re-register, and all new registrations must be approved before activation. Music files on smnet.prstudios.com are still offline.

Oct 26 - Musical files back online

I've uploaded the affected musical zips on prstudios.com (see below) to my mangastyle.net domain since I haven't been using all my bandwidth on that domain (I upgraded my account a few months ago in anticipation of expansion, which hasn't taken place yet). We'll see if it can handle the extra files for a while ;-) In addition: I have added a link to a great "Another Story" (SM for SNES) site with a walkthru, maps, in-game music downloads, and the emulated version of the game itself (in English).

Oct 19th - Forums/Server Outage

I received a message from Dark Phoenix today that the web host for shimai-duo.com (the SM.net forums) and prstudios.com (host of many of the music files) was attacked by some hacker group; anything and everything on the server was shutdown. We don't know yet the extent of the damage, but DP says he will need to set everything back up once there is a site to access again. So don't expect things to be fixed overnight. Sorry guys!

October 17/05

Geez. I check the guestbook after a month and it's covered with spam again (34 messages this time). I've increased the time required between posts but that's about all the anti-spam settings the guestbook has (it's very limited - I was looking for something simple and easy that came with my hosting package). If this keeps happening, I'm taking the guestbook offline. I'm sure it will, because guestbook/blog spammers use automated scripts (they're extremely lazy). It's not worth the trouble.

October 16/05

I recently re-encoded the tracks for Musical 5 and 10, SuperS Music Collection, and Sailor Moon R Movie at a higher quality bitrate (previously my copies of these tracks came from the net and were a lower quality). Added track titles and translations for Musical 13 (via Matt, thanks!) and added the track titles to the Music Box files (zipped files only).

September 20/05

Added the final missing PGSM album: DJ Moon 3! Originally ripped by TV Nihon at #tv-nihon on irc.zirc.org. There are only three BGM tracks on this album so it's not a great buy for new music. It's been a year since the series ended so it looks like PGSM Complete Song Collection will the last CD for PGSM.

September 14/05

Added DJ Moon 2 oggs from my recently purchased album. Feel free to use these on your own site. The more Sailor Moon music web sites, the better.

August 21/05

I've uploaded Brass Fantasy, which the site was missing for a while. (Namely because I lost my disc. I finally downloaded the files off DC++)

To help you more easily find background music on the Memorial Music Box, I've scanned in the pages of the Music Box CD Book containing the BGM Lists for each season and Cue Sheets for every episode. It's easy enough: look up the episode # you're watching, find approximately where you are (beginning, middle, end), and then cross-reference the listed musical cue with the BGM List for that season.

August 14/05

I've added the new PGSM song "Happy Time, Happy Life" as a download in the PGSM Complete Song Collection album and downloads for the songs from the PGSM Super Live Special.

July 7, 2005

Tracks for Song Box 2, Ai ha Dokoni Aruno, and In Another Dream have been fixed.

July 4, 2005

I've rescanned the covers for the Music Box and added info on the tracks that are missing from the set. A visitor sent me scans of the Koro-chan Pack 1 booklet so I have added a CD page for that. I also recently switched this site's layout to Blue Mercury Edition. If you have an up-to-date browser you probably are familiar with it already as it had been the alternate style since January. I was tired of the default style (the black and yellow) and swapped styles a few days ago. You can switch back to the old style if your browser supports style switching.

June 29/05: New Design

This site's design has been changed to "Blue Mercury Edition". This is a style I created on Jan 28/05 and added to the site as an alternate style (available to Firefox and Opera users). Now all users will enjoy the new design. And if you liked the old black & yellow design - which many do - you can still view the site that way using Firefox.

June 11, 2005: Studio Library Music

A listing of the Studio Library BGM is now available: I have put up a page for the known studio library background music as compiled by the members at the SailorMusic.net forums. I've been sitting on this for a couple months, and now it's finally up. Hopefully this will help out people who are looking for a particular piece of music and cannot find it on the Sailor Moon soundtracks. Check out the bottom of the page for two of the most requested musical pieces from Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon.

June 8, 2005

No content updates today, but I wanted to acknowledge that yes, this site has been out of commission for the past week. I screwed up a configuration file on the server and didn't realize it. Sorry for scaring anyone who came here and got a weird message asking them to "download a file". It was a mime-type error. I took the opportunity to remove the browser alert at the bottom of the page and replace it with two discreet link buttons to the Opera and Firefox browsers. They could do better with their 88x31px buttons. I may go back to the text box. I recently read a claim that all browsers are equally good, and that it's only a matter of personal opinion which one you use. Funny. Not true, but funny. I can see how the casual web user would be unaware of the vast differences between the very basic, out of date, but serviceable Internet Explorer, and the rest of the browsers that are available today. To someone like myself with training in computer programming (including web development), it's impossible not to spot the problems.

New Book: "Warriors of Legend" - June 2005

The Sailor Moon Soap Box (Genvid) and edited by the senior editor at Anime News Network. It takes a different approach from the usual Sailor Moon fan book, as it uses the series (Sailor Moon) to investigate Japanese culture. Sound interesting? Check out the website at warriorsoflegend.com. The book was published on May 16, 2005 and is available thru the usual online bookstores, including Amazon.com. The Warriors of Legend website has additional information for ordering from outside North America.

May 21, 2005

One of my sponsors needed to reduce his hostees, so there were a number of albums that weren't working this week. I've now uploaded them to a new server and downloading is working again for: Sailormoon Gasshou Kumikyoku, Sailor Moon Music Fantasy, Sailor Moon Extra Version, Sailor Moon S Movie, Sailor Moon R Movie, Orgel Fantasia, SM SuperS Paris, Piano Fantasia, Song Box vol. 1, 3, and 6, and Music Box vol. 9 and 10. I have hot-link protection on these files so don't even think about direct-linking to them from your MSN Group or whatever. Link to the album's HTML page or upload the ogg files to your own web site. You can also now download Song Box vol. 4 and 5 (the Sailor Stars singles) individual.

May 10, 2005

I've added two songs performed by Hotaru/Saturn's voice actress, MINAGUCHI Yuko, to the Special Bonus Tracks. They were sent to me a little while ago, and they're the first songs I've ever heard performed by her seiyuu. Think of these as the image songs Saturn never had :-)

All updates from (August 1997 - April 2005) have been archived, but old layouts may be viewed at the Astraldream Network.
